Alessandro Russo (Universita’ di Milano-Bicocca) The Virtual Element Method : New Results and Perspectives
Abstract
The Virtual Element Method is an extension of the classical Finite Element
Method which allows to use a decomposition of the computational domain
consisting of general polygons and polyhedra. In this talk I will first
present an overview of the theory together with several applications to the
approximation of classical PDE problems. Then I will discuss future
perspectives and open problems.
