WORKSHOP ``Numerical methods for multimaterial fluid flows''

September 23-25, 2002

INSTITUT HENRI POINCARÉ

( plan)

Goals :

The goal of the workshop was to present the state of the art for multimaterial hydrodynamic simulations. Despite recent progresses, many unresolved issues remain on the subject, in the context of multiphysics and high performance hydrocodes.

The wokshop will focus on numerical methods and their mathematical anaysis as well as modelization for complex multimaterial flows.

Topics covered :

  Modelization, numerical treatment.
Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian methods (ALE): Lagrangian hydro, advection, mesh movement, mesh refinement,
material interface treatments, etc ...
Eulerian methods: advection, Adaptative Mesh Refinement (AMR),
material interface treatments, Coupled Eulerian and Lagrangian, etc ...
Mesh free methods: Free Lagrange, Smooth Particle Hydrodynamics.
Mixing models at material interfaces:

Some SLIDES (.ps, .pdf, .ppt) of the conference
Some ABSTRACTS (.ps, .pdf, .ppt) of the conference
