This talk is focused on the Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers equation on the negative half-line, and results of well-posedness in H^s for s<=0 and of boundary controllability are shown. Unbounded domains bring challenges for the compactness properties in the moment of proving exact controllability, which makes necessary to go over some intrinsic properties of each equation. Additionally, new boundary estimates are obtained for the solution of the KdV-B on the negative half-line.
